Happy Wednesday everyone! I’ve been examining the idea of living for the weekend and while there’s no doubt that Friday is a sweet bait to get me through the week, I’m trying to refocus savoring the hours between Saturday mornings. It’s another weekday – celebrate it! You’ll have chances to cheer or support others, whether they be co-workers, your handsome groom or lovely bride, or how ’bout those darling tots who stare at you with adoring eyes? OR, if you’re like me, you might fail to recall that you can, in fact, learn from these blessings in your life, to open your eyes to the messages God sends your way through them. Maybe a topic for another post! Enough rambling on my part, here’s some solid gold from my fellow bloggers!
Sadly, another year of Roe v. Wade’s active state has passed and though staring 40 years and a 55 million death-toll in the face is terrifying and defeating, we are winning. We are praying, we have the intercession of the whole communion of saints, and as Christians, we are always hopeful in God’s providence, mercy, and justice. Mary Walker, you’re simple fantastic. Mary wrote a piece just yesterday on the fact that Downton Abbey is so crazed because it’s foundationally counter-cultural. Don’t miss this amusing and fascinating post about Why This Catholic Has Downton Fever.
Theology of the Body vs. 50 Shades of Grey?? While the vice in 50 Shades is plain as day to many, Judy Keane reveals its stark contrast to real love, real passion, and real respect in Blessed JPII’s Theology of the Body.
I was deeply humbled and honored when I once heard Erin Franco regard The Catholic Wife and Humble Handmaid as “sister sites,” blogs that aren’t quite the same, but are closely tied and most definitely supportive of each other. It’s because of this and my dear friendship with Erin that I’m always proud to link-up to her posts, which seem to be written with perfect timing for my soul. Please read her words on keeping faith and hope in times of doubt and dismay.
Happy Wednesday, everyone! God bless and make it great!
