I pray yours was! My mama whipped up the perfect sweet potatoes and my stepdad’s roasted turkey left a fantastic aroma for hours. Dinner was delish, though full of the usual mealtime negotiations typical to four kids 6 and under; the Sciba babies had a great day and went down easily (Thank you, tryptophan), and Andrew and I stayed up late with my mom and stepdad playing cards. *bliss* The day was a blessing from start to finish.

It was a huge thrill to speak in Bangor, Maine just a couple of weeks ago – SUCH a blessing – and I feel so strongly about the talk I gave on opening our hearts to Jesus that I’m going LIVE on Facebook every Sunday night of Advent at 8:40 CST to share it with you. Full disclosure: Advent is usually a blur for me. And by the time Christmas gets here, I’m wiped. out. and it’s usually because I did everything to prep my house – shop, decorate, clean, bake – and nothing to ready my heart for the Messiah. I wake up Christmas morning feeling spiritually underwhelmed.
And I know I’m not alone.
